Well, this is kind of an important part of backpacking! I bought my big backpack last week!
It’s a beautiful Eagle Creek “Meridian” 55L…
It’s got a nice big zippered pocket, the black part at the bottom is a separate drawstring pocket (a “boot pocket”), which can be smushed down through the big pocket if necessary… a “boarding pass” pocket on the very front (just at the top of that reflective tape), and a smaller pocket, shown…
…with several lovely mesh zippered pockets. It was $220 Canadian, plus taxes. Not bad I think, I’m sure it will last me for years.

I’m getting ready to leave on a similar trip. Only mine is only one month. Thanks for your blog, I’ve started one now too. You inspired me! Ha. Hopefully we can give each other some help along the way.
